Not sure if this fits the right sub-topic. It might work well on your notebook laptop (HP 15s AMD edition) for speeds up to 150mbps at 5ghz. The issue is it lacks an antenna. Thanks.

Make sure you're close to the router; 5GHz works better at short distances and isn't affected by obstacles due to its higher frequency. Peripherals behave similarly to a mouse and keyboard, but since it's a USB device, that might be different... haha

No, 20 feet and one wall is not sufficient for proper installation.

It seems you're checking if the item is purchased via Amazon. If it doesn't function as expected, please send it back.

It will probably work, but the issue is that USB wifi adaptors are known to be unreliable at best, but as it's a laptop, there's no alternative. But really, unless you have line of sight to your router, or are in a house with drywall+stud walls, not concrete or drywall+steal, your not going to be able to use 5ghz well anyways.

USB Wi-Fi adapters can cause connectivity problems, especially with older ISPs. This issue has been common for me.

The primary problem with wifi USB adaptors is that when they become jostled, they might disconnect and reconnect (for power or data lines), leading to issues with starting the connection.

USB converters may overheat and lead to connection problems. The adapter you mentioned has the tiniest antennas available. It probably won’t perform well. USB Wi-Fi devices are usually seen as a final option.

The antennas with USB 3.0 offer improved performance compared to older models.
