Hey! I'm checking if an LG1700 water block is compatible with an LG1151 socket or motherboard. No results found online—any advice would be great. Thanks!

Likely the LGA 1700 is broader than LGA 1151 unless it includes a mounting bracket. You might want to purchase a LGA 1151 compatible waterblock for better value. If you're referring to the actual block, it should fit well since the motherboard supports it and its dimensions match; the main consideration is the mounting system.

All 1700 water blocks known by EK lack mounting support for LGA 115X. Support can be installed in the opposite direction; certain LGA 115X water blocks (excluding Velocity 2 models) may upgrade to LGA 1700 sockets, though the reverse isn't possible since LGA 1700 doesn't have the correct holes.

Mechanical drawings available for those who want them. Initially assumed they'd work the same way. For more details, check this article: https://www.extremetech.com/computing/32...a-bad-idea
