I need your advice here. I have a budget of about 450 dollars and want to upgrade my old PC with these parts: an AMD FX 6300 processor (I know it's not great but I got it from my brother), a Gigabyte 78LMT USB 3.0 motherboard, some DDR3 1600 MHz RAM (I don't know the manufacturer), an LC-POWER RGB CPU cooler, a RTX 3060 (I think it's too much and I have a bottleneck), plus an SSD with Windows and an HDD with games. I'd like some reviews to see if this works well or not. I also have an Intel Core i5-13400F, a Kingston FURY Beast DIMM kit for 32GB DDR4, and I'm looking for suggestions and opinions on improvements.
This upgrade is a huge improvement over the FX6300 and works well with the RTX 3060. The CPU cooler won’t fit, but the stock cooler in the 13400(f) is adequate though it makes some noise. If your power supply is as outdated as the CPU, consider replacing it with a newer model.
Thanks for reaching out. Your concerns are valid—making sure your cooling setup works with your system is important. The manual confirms compatibility, and with two fans connected, you should have adequate airflow. The 600W power supply should handle the load, but always verify your components match the specifications. Let me know if you need further clarification! THX for your question.
I would choose the AM5 PCPartPicker Part List: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/vDZWgb. The CPU is an AMD Ryzen 5 7600 3.8 GHz 6-core model priced at €232.99 on notebooksbilliger.de. The motherboard is the ASRock A620M-HDV/M.2+ Micro ATX AM5 board available for €105.89 on Amazon Deutschland. The memory consists of G.Skill Ripjaws S5 32 GB (two 16 GB modules) in DDR5-5600 CL28 format, costing around €113.89 at Alternate sources. Combined total comes to €452.77. All prices include shipping, taxes, and any available discounts. This was generated by PCPartPicker on July 4, 2023 at 12:26 CEST+0200. If you have more budget flexibility, consider the Deepcool AK400 ZERO DARK CPU cooler (66.47 CFM) from PCPartPicker.
Thanks for the response, but I think I’ll keep it as is. I already have two fans set up on my cooler, and they fit well with the CPU and motherboard I chose. I don’t want to spend more money on another cooler. For my use case (light gaming), DDR4 RAM would work fine. Appreciate the advice!
