Hello friends, I’m trying to set up a new PC using some past knowledge and these components: Asus Tuf B650 Plus Wifi, 7800X3D, Corsair Vengeance 6000MHz CL30 2x16GB RAM, WD Black SN850x 1TB M.2 2280, and Corsair RM1000e PSU. The problem is I can’t get it to boot or display anything. Some fixes I’ve tried didn’t help—replacing the motherboard, reseating CPU or RAM, using one stick of RAM, updating BIOS, clearing CMOS, changing connectors, and running without RAM—but nothing worked. My keyboard and mouse don’t light up at all, and nothing else appears on the screen. I’m worried about the PSU or my RAM being faulty. I checked the specs on Asus’ site and thought 5200MHz RAM is fine for the B650, but maybe it needs to be lower. I’ve also heard many people face similar issues with their RAM. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, even if it’s just a last resort. Thanks!

I think it's the RAM or PSU you mentioned. You could try replacing them or ask a friend to check if those RAM modules work. Also, test an old system with that PSU to see if it runs, and push it to its limits using 7800x3d. Maybe even verify if the CPU is operational.

Review this manual to ensure you haven’t overlooked anything. It also outlines steps for testing your PSU.

I’ve already checked that tutorial but appreciate you sharing the link. I’ve switched to a different motherboard and power supply, yet the issue persists. I’ve also observed a loud “click” when the PC powers on and off through the PSU, which makes me wonder if the CPU is shorting or something similar.

Capture an image of the system and share it. A picture may assist in identifying any connection problems.

Sorry about the unclear picture, I'm currently checking the CPU again but the connections are visible in the image so everything looks good.

The CPU appears unusual. It doesn’t look neat and the thermal paste isn’t applied properly. Focusing isn’t clear enough to understand what’s happening. Also, it’s hard to tell if the CPU is getting hot without a heavy workload. All connections seem fine—RAM in the right slots, fan connected, power supply working.

the cpu wasn’t connected to the computer when i was working on it. i noticed it gets warm because after letting the machine run briefly and then disconnecting power, i removed the aio to pull out the cpu, and it was hot enough to cause discomfort.
