Hi there! It's been quite some time since we last chatted. You're facing issues setting up your friend's new PC, especially with the GPU. Despite testing two GPUs—3060 and 4060—which function well elsewhere, they won't boot this machine. Your old Radeon HD from 2012 still works fine. So far, you've tried various power cables, PCIe slots, BIOS updates, USB firmware, older GPUs without power connectors, and even changed boot modes. The CPU is a Ryzen 7 5800x. You're considering the BIOS might be the issue, but with only a few builds, it's hard to pinpoint. Any suggestions or insights would be really helpful! Thanks!
The RMA motherboard could be replaced with a 5700X 3D version instead of the 5800X.
Check for additional components that could help. If forcing PCIe speeds to 3 didn’t help, it might be the motherboard itself, even though older GPUs still function.
