Hey, the fans on my 1070 Ti began getting noisy and I figured it was time to swap them out along with a repaste. That’s what I did this morning. For reference, I own a Palit 1070 Ti and purchased these from Aliexpress: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33062419...1802ABSAQY Everything seemed normal at first—fans were quiet, and I tested them in Fan Control, which showed perfect speed regulation. I started playing FFXIV eagerly for my weekly Savage raids, keeping an eye on temperatures and using a dummy to verify everything was running smoothly. After about ten minutes, suddenly it got extremely loud, like a blowdryer. At first I thought it was the CPU fan, but when I rebooted, the GPU fans stayed quiet. Then I looked closer and checked the front fan (the one facing the case) – it was at 100%, while the left one was off completely. Fan Control also showed 0 RPM for the left fan, even though the right one immediately hit full speed after booting. The temperatures were fine throughout. Luckily, my 1060 3GB unit is working well and I’m using that temporarily. I’m hoping someone can help me figure this out. Maybe a low-end mod would work if I can’t solve it myself? Also, the GPU heatsink is small, so bigger fans might not fit easily. Would really appreciate any advice here… I’ve tried re-seating it and using a different power cable, but the right one doesn’t respond to Fan Control or MSI Afterburner.
Are there any steps you can take? Or is the fan completely beyond repair? It seems odd to me—it functioned well for the first 10 to 20 minutes. Then it just stopped abruptly, even though temperatures were around 78°F under heavy load (which is typical for the card).
Oh wow, AliExpress... right? That’s why you should get more than one of an item there? In the fan chain, is the last one about to blow up? Probably inside the fan hub. If you have a friend who knows how to use a soldering iron, they could probably fix it for you. That’s why I prefer water cooling with regular fans on the radiators.
