Hello everyone, I just installed a new PC and was trying it out with AMD Adrenalin configurations. In a video by Jayz it was mentioned that enabling the auto OC/rage mode in the software is fine if you don’t want to do manual adjustments or tweaks. While testing the auto OC feature, I picked up quite a bit of noise from my system. I captured it here: https://imgur.com/a/861iKS5. From what I found online, this shouldn’t be considered a problem or issue. Please let me know if this is typical or if there’s something else going on.

PC Specifications:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 4.2 GHz (€467.90 @ Azerty)
- Cooler: Deepcool AK620 (€80.47 @ Amazon Netherlands)
- Motherboard: MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI ATX AM5 (€240.85 @ Megekko)
- RAM: G.Skill Flare X5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL32 (€110.85 @ Megekko)
- Storage: Western Digital Black SN770 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME SSD (€111.85 @ Azerty)
- GPU: Sapphire PULSE Radeon RX 7900 XT 20 GB (€985.04 @ Azerty)
- Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower (€89.90 @ Amazon Netherlands)
- Power Supply: Corsair RM850x (2021) 850 W, 80+ Gold Certified (€159.90 @ Amazon Netherlands)
- Fans: ARCTIC P12 56.3 CFM and ARCTIC P12 56.3 CFM (€10.49 each @ Amazon Netherlands)

Normal fans spin fast, often reaching over 3000 RPM. Your 7900XTX works similarly. Use Adrenalin to lower the fan curve and limit max speed to 75%—anything higher causes more noise than it saves. Monitor temperatures to confirm you haven’t exceeded limits (typical hotspots are around 70°C or 95°C). Undervolting may also cut power use and help maintain high speeds.

You're testing different configurations for your gaming setup. Currently, RD2 is running smoothly with GPU at 74°C, CPU at 70°C, and you're using default AMD Adrenalin settings. You're playing on high settings in RDR2 at 2K resolution. You're unsure whether to make changes or stick with the preset. The "Undervolt GPU" option seemed effective except during Auto OC, so you might try just the undervolt preset without further adjustments. FPS differences appear minimal. To lower GPU temperatures, consider tweaking specific settings and monitor the results.

GPU temperature averages at 74°C, but hotspot readings are significantly higher. The adrenalin curve is linked to the hotspot value, which behaves unexpectedly. The table showing speed percentages per temperature range helps visualize performance. Running fans at full speed when hotspot hits 81°C is excessive; average temps should stay around 60°C. Adjust the curve so it rises from 40% to 50% between 50–70°C, then to 60% up to 85°C, and reaches 75% above that. Normal operation caps max temperature, but always verify readings.

It's around 71c on average with a Junction tempo near 83c. That's considered pretty high, which is why I explored the AMD Adrenalin options.

Sure, the junction temperature should stay below 90°C (or 95°C) for fans running at 3000rpm. It seems like the airflow might be limited or the environment is quite warm. Could you share your GPU's clock speed?

GPU performance ranges around 2550-2600MHz while the fan operates at approximately 1550 RPM. The surrounding temperature is about 21°C. My setup includes three intake fans positioned on the front and one exhaust fan at the rear.

But then the fans shouldn't make too much noise at 1550 rpm, which is about half of the maximum speed, and the curve suggests full speed with an 80°C hotspot?

It seems the fan curve isn't visible in the default setting. When I choose the custom option, I can view and modify it. Could there be another reason for the missing information?

Default settings are stored in GPU VBIOS. This model includes an OC and quiet mode switch, but performance relies on model tweaks. Use Adrenalin to control them.
