It's just as intense as COD. At least BF makes it hard to see when you're being pushed, so the challenge feels a bit stronger.

ESL includes many MOBA titles, Call of Duty, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and a few strategy games. Fnatic dominates Battlefield 4, and CS:GO follows suit.

I recall seeing a massive BF2 tournament a while back—maybe ten years ago now. It was incredible! Yet, to be honest (and regrettably), I think the game isn’t really ideal for serious competition.

There's also the bullet physics. Hitting a moving target accurately over long range has a learning curve, especially for guns with a slower muzzle velocity. COD guns are hit scan, there are no bullets being modeled.

Most recent BF versions aren't really suited for this kind of game. It's understandable they keep using comp BF; sadly, Dice isn't pushing for a more polished experience, and the developers don't have much freedom to earn extra money directly.

It's quite unexpected to see a strong competitive focus in a game not designed for that kind of play. It seems the developers might be using standard settings, or perhaps it's just a smaller-scale version of the original title.
