This seems to be a mistaken alert about restoring SMBv1 in Windows 10 version 1803.

I'm not sure where to report this, but it might be significant. SMBv1 was re-enabled in the 1803 update. Check the Control Panel > Programs and Features, turn Windows features on/off—you'll see SMBv1 Client listed after the update from 1709 (where it wasn't there) to 1803. There was a major ransomware incident last year? This seems concerning. EDIT: Yes, WannaCry attack occurred recently.
Updated the work machine this morning and reviewed the window features. Mine wasn’t checked. Unclear why there’s a difference. Version 1803 OS, build 17134.48.
Not verified on any of your PCs, even after cleaning one that was installed. Are you certain you didn’t activate it by accident or had it turned on before? Also, with more than 3,500 posts I assume you should be in the appropriate discussion area. - Moved to Windows
It's been 3600 posts since 2013... I seem to visit this site quite often /s (Yeah, I really do... especially for the car thread, hehe).
SMBv1 resolved its security vulnerability, unlike SSL which was deprecated. The fix was implemented via MS17-010. Ensure your system has one of these KB articles: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help...-installed. Newer releases already include MS17-010.
