Checking the upgrade from I3 3110M to I5 3230M makes sense. Both have similar performance gaps, mainly due to clock speed differences. The main benefit would be a noticeable boost in performance, especially for multitasking or demanding applications. Since the CPU is not soldered on the motherboard, you should be able to install it easily.
