Looking to boost your computer's performance by adding 32 GB of RAM. It’s a solid upgrade if your current setup isn’t meeting your needs. Check the specifications of your laptop to see how it compares.

Are you limited to just 8 units now, or do you have 16? If you already have 16 at 3200 MHz, adding more won’t help. My system has 64 GB of storage, my laptop has 32 GB of RAM, and I rarely reach its full capacity.

I own 16GB, with most of it idle. The new RAM offers improved timing, and I notice some lag. Are you questioning whether this particular RAM works well?

You probably won’t reach the full capacity of 16GB, but others might too. It really comes down to what you’re doing. I usually hit my memory limit by running tough games, keeping many Chrome tabs active, and having background apps like Spotify running. Also, having 32GB would likely give me a significant edge and has been proven to boost performance in CPU-constrained situations on both AMD and Intel processors.

This appears to be designed for a gaming laptop, but you mentioned it shouldn’t fit in a desktop.

Just noticed I didn’t mention it was a laptop.

Currently, they're using a dual-channel setup. They mentioned that most of their RAM is not being used either. So it won't be able to boost performance much.

I don’t recognize the link you shared mentioning a dual rank RAM, and I’m unclear what that term means. Also, I wasn’t sure whether you meant it was just being used rather than indicating a specific configuration.

The RAM you have is from Hynix, which seems like a solid choice. Based on that, it’s likely your device uses an ASUS or Alienware model. I’d recommend sticking with what you already have.

Thanks in advance! Your Acer Predator Helios 300 is a great model. The part number P317-54 is correct.
