Oh no, what just happened? I was playing Metro Last Light Redux for a bit, then I left and after an hour I opened it again—it froze instantly, showing a black screen. Checked the settings and saw something wrong. It looks like the game got deleted on its own. That’s really weird.
Did you purchase it? In any case, allocate a bit of memory (~5GB) for it.
The game is really poor since the system went wrong, or maybe the player isn't doing well.
It seems an unauthorized version wouldn't cause issues, just a note. You need to assign some memory/ram for it. I faced a comparable problem with the original MLL; once I gave it 7GB, everything worked.
regardless of launching the game via Steam, the same issue persists
