I'm a bit of a curious type, so I checked the RAM compatibility list for my board. The new RAM I purchased is listed there. After turning off the system and clearing the CMOS, it worked perfectly. Thanks for the suggestion! Initially, I doubted it would function, but now it's running smoothly. I've also noticed that tweaking settings or resetting defaults can be a bit tricky on this board. Sometimes I end up restoring everything twice, and after the last reset, I had to go into BIOS and change the adaptive voltage settings to 43, 42, 41, and 41 multipliers—it was quite unusual. Clearing the CMOS was a smart move.

EDIT: For those reading later, my process went like this (BIOS was already updated): I powered down the computer and cut power to the supply, installed both RAM kits, removed the power plug from the supply, crossed the RTC jumper for 5 seconds, then plugged everything back in and restarted.
