This build was mostly assembled in April 2023. It includes a gigabyte x570s Aero G AM4 processor, a ryzen 5700x with a Coolermaster hyper212 cooler, four 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 modules, and a 750W power supply. The system runs on an APCCS650 UPS with a fresh battery. Only the sapphire nitro rx480 is outdated; I kept costs low by delaying repairs until about two weeks ago when it stopped waking from sleep. Recently, it refused to wake despite power and RAM checks. The RGB fan won’t light but the board powers on and gets stuck during RAM verification. Last time I tried resetting by swapping RAM sticks one at a time, it didn’t start. I’m hesitant to redo the BIOS flash process. What advice would others give?
You followed all my recommendations perfectly. (A single stick of RAM, cleared the CMOS). Perhaps another member here might offer an alternative idea.
Wrapping up this discussion. It seems both the CPU and the NVME components were affected somehow. Whether it managed to pass POST without issues is uncertain, but the NVME unit was clearly nonfunctional. After full service, we replaced the CPU and NVME parts, and it still performed well—remaining one of the top x570 boards I encountered.
