I bought an ASUS ROG Strix B550-F motherboard and mistakenly got a Ryzen 7 2700X instead of the expected Ryzen 7 3700X. I’m checking if a second AMD CPU can work with this setup, even though the motherboard supports third-gen AMD CPUs. I need to know if a BIOS update is necessary for compatibility.
B550 isn't compatible with Zen+; you'll have to return the 2700x or the B550.
Unfortunately, natively b550 only supports zen 2, not zen + cpu. If the item arrived differently, I’d gladly return it.
Certainly, if you send the 2700x version and receive the 3700x as expected, it should function perfectly if you're right.
