I face an unusual issue with my Intel Core™ i7-8750H CPU in the Acer Predators Triton 500 laptop. When I switch to the Acer power plan and set the maximum processor speed to 100%, it consistently runs at 3.9 GHz even when idle. Raising it to 99% brings it down to 2.1 GHz, but it never reaches that boost, no matter what I do—even though Power Mode claims better performance. While using the latest BIOS, gaming causes temperatures to spike up to 96°C, and at 95% utilization it still doesn’t increase to 99% speed.

We're looking for guidance on managing CPU performance and cooling. The advice includes adjusting processor settings to prevent overheating, optimizing power limits, and considering hardware maintenance like cleaning fans or reapplying thermal paste.
