I face an unusual issue with my Intel Core™ i7-8750H CPU in the Acer Predators Triton 500 laptop. When I switch to the Acer power plan and set the maximum processor speed to 100%, it consistently runs at 3.9 GHz even when idle. Raising it to 99% brings it down to 2.1 GHz, but it never reaches that boost, no matter what I do—even though Power Mode claims better performance. While using the latest BIOS, gaming causes temperatures to spike up to 96°C, and at 95% utilization it still doesn’t increase to 99% speed.
