Hello everyone! From the videos I've seen about CPUs, it looks like the Ryzen 7 9800X3D leads in pure gaming performance. But since I often run multiple monitors or have background applications while gaming, I wonder if it still stands out for gaming when other tasks are active. Should I stick with this CPU or consider something with more cores? I'm not sure and would love to know what others think. Thanks!
The design of multi-CCD Ryzen processors suggests that adding more cores might not always help and could even create problems due to scheduling issues. This is different from a single Ryzen 8-core CPU, where such concerns are less likely.
Whispers suggest 9950X3D will include V-Cache on both CCDs, making it unclear if the cross-CCD delay will remain significant.
Because 9800X3D seems unlikely anytime soon, I'll be holding out for the dual CCD X3D chips.
