Your Amd Ryzen 5 3600 isn't reaching higher than 4.2 GHz due to hardware or thermal limits. Even with core voltage increased to 1.60, the system caps at 4.2 GHz. The 1.370 setting works fine, but pushing to 4.25 triggers a reboot during testing. Your Gigabyte B550 D-series motherboard might influence performance, so check for firmware updates or thermal issues.

The 3600 is approximately 4 years old, with most early samples showing around that age. More recent samples tend to be older.

I succeeded more easily with my 3600 by relying solely on PBO and allowing it to handle things on its own. 4.2 represented the best I could achieve with my setup.

PBO is active and maintains performance below 70°C during tests. I understand the 4.2 boost limit, but I’m struggling to exceed it even by increasing core voltage significantly.

When adjusting settings such as core voltage, make sure to update the BIOS and restore it to default values, activate PBO, and then retry.

Generally yes, but if you're significantly out of place, certain BIOS entries suggest updating a particular BIOS before proceeding to the newest version, which seems to be bypassed for your setup.
