I'm working with a Threadripper 1950X and using Premiere extensively. My workflow relies heavily on the Marker panel, but this machine makes it difficult. The window performance is poor, making tasks like copying titles to descriptions frustrating. On my Macbook Pro 15" with an Intel Core i9 9880H, the issue is manageable—still functional, though not ideal. In R20 Cinebench single core, my Macbook Pro scores about 30 points better than the Threadripper. I'm unsure if it's the AMD chip or the Threadripper design that causes the problem, or if it's specific to this model. Anyone know if a 3000 series Ryzen can handle creating and scrolling many markers? I don't want to invest heavily and risk it being an AMD issue. Also, I'd prefer not to replace my PC just in case. Let me know!

Hey! You’ve got a solid setup with 4x8GB RAM and a GeForce 1070. The plan is to upgrade to a 3900X with an ASUS TUF GAMING X570 for around $700. They're okay. Zen 2 would be an upgrade from TR 1st Gen, which has some issues. If you can't, hold off and switch to Zen 3. The advantages would include better performance and a more affordable setup. You'd be missing quad channel bandwidth, but that probably isn't a big deal. When Zen 3 comes out, just sell the board and CPU and get a new Zen 3 CPU and board. Tomahawk for similar pricing would provide significantly more value.
