Hello everyone, I'm dealing with a 6700k CPU that suddenly stopped supporting hyper-threading. It's paired with an MSI Z170-A Gaming M7 using current UEFI settings. Both the Windows Task Manager and CPUz display it as having 4 cores and 4 threads. I've checked the BIOS to confirm hyper-threading is enabled and tried changing the setting to see if that fixes it. Do you think there might be a hardware issue with the chip or motherboard, or could this be something more straightforward? Appreciate any advice beforehand!
I don't have access to the most recent firmware details for the chipset. Please check the official documentation or contact the manufacturer for updates. The issue began occurring at an unspecified time, so you may need to provide more context for a precise answer.
The newest System and Chipset Driver from MSI has been updated recently. I performed a clean CMOS reset and it worked the same way.
Observed yesterday, yet I recall Hyper-Threading functioning roughly two weeks prior to rebuilding Windows 10.
