Hello, I recently upgraded my PC with these components: Ryzen 5 1600AF, GSkill Ripjaws 2x8gb, 3600Mhz CL19 RAM, ASUS TUF B450, Gaming Plus motherboard, Rx 570 PSU, 2x128gb SSDs (500gb HDD). The issue I'm facing is that the PC won't boot. It doesn’t even reach BIOS. My motherboard seller helped me with some troubleshooting. They used a Ryzen 5 1400 on the same board with my RAM, and it worked fine. Then they tried a Samsung 2400mhz RAM kit and Ryzen 5 1400, which also booted. After several tries, my CPU started working with the new RAM but stopped after a restart. I updated the BIOS for the CPU, but nothing changed. My question is whether I should keep trying to fix it or consider replacing the CPU altogether. The only concern is that it did boot once—shouldn’t that mean it’s not a bad chip? Thanks for your advice!
Thanks for your response. I've cleared the CMOS multiple times and tested each slot with one stick, but nothing worked. The CPU appears to have straight pins. All indicators light up and fans spin, yet the system remains inactive.
three questions 1. How long have you waited for a post? 2. what way did you clear cmos? 3. did you try the other stick of ram by its self in each slot?
1. Took about 15 minutes. Disconnected power, removed battery, pressed power button until drained, waited 3-4 minutes, reinserted battery but it didn’t work.
2. I also attempted this method.
