i have two motherboards that were shipped to me. both are asus x99 a1 with bios version 3902. i own the cpus 1630 v3 / 2603 v3 / i7 5960x 1630 and 2603. on the 5960x it shows a b6 error code. i attempted to use supermicro x99 but got no support for i7, even though i was hoping to see that error. my concern is: does the 3902 bios support the 5960x? if not, what happens? i suspect the issue might be with the cpu itself, since i haven't flashed any bios before. regarding the missing parts, i need components that allow me to press the cpu without errors. the one i found is called a 2011 bracket but it's quite expensive. do you have any suggestions for generic alternatives? maybe my father can help if he needs it.
I received x79, after removing brackets I used x99, it functions. For the CPU I plan to update the BIOS.
