Hey everyone, I've been using h1z1 lately and have been seeing 30-45 fps with high-ultra settings at 1080p. It's really frustrating since my system looks solid. Here are my details: i5 3570k @ 3.4 GHz, GTX980 Ti, 6GB RAM on an ASUS P8Z77. I'm using the ultra or high presets and have a render distance of 3000 meters, yet I still get such low frame rates. My temps stay under 70°C and the CPU doesn't throttle. Any suggestions for improving performance?

Avoid assuming the CPU is the issue. What amount of RAM do you have available? Also, consider reducing the render distance slightly.

I own 16 GB of RAM with a DDR3 chip at 1600 MHz, and I’m checking if pushing my CPU to its limit will boost performance. My friend with an i5 6600K is running smoothly at stock speed, giving them roughly 10-20 frames per second more than me.

H1z1 is a beta version of the game, unless you encounter issues with other titles falling below 60 at high settings...it's simply H1z1

This, it's just a poorly optimized game.

The 3570K remains a solid choice for gaming and isn’t overly limiting. Minor differences in frames per second compared to Skylake are normal, but if performance drops by around 30%, it might point to another issue rather than just the CPU speed. As suggested, adjusting draw distance or tweaking other settings could help.

Set the speed to 5GHz straightforwardly.

The issue isn't there. Focus on H1Z1.
