I've disabled PBO now. The temperatures remain consistent. I read about the Ryzen 5 5600X running hot but I want to confirm everything is okay. I'm not sure if the AIO was mounted correctly. I'm using it at 1440p with 170Hz. I have a Ryzen 5 5600X M.SI B550 Mag Tomahawk M.B. MSI 240R cooler. The temps are normal, but during startup they spike to 70-80 for a short time. The minimum temperature is reached only when idle, which feels slow. I have three intake fans and three exhaust fans; their speeds are balanced in BIOS as optimized. Everything seems fine with PBO off.

It seems slightly elevated, especially at the top, though still within acceptable ranges. I’d anticipate a lower minimum with an AIO, but it could be normal based on case and temperature conditions. Ensure the block on the AIO is securely tightened to fully cover the IHS. I’m not familiar with this specific model, but some lack complete coverage, especially older Intel-focused ones that rely on hardware tweaks for AM4 compatibility. Also, verify you’re applying sufficient thermal paste. You can take off the block to assess coverage; if it didn’t spread evenly across the entire IHS, add a bit more next time. You might also consider undervolting using the curve optimizer exclusive to Zen 3. This not only cuts heat but often improves performance too. It’s typical to reach 5GHz single-core speeds on higher Zen 3 chips when undervolted—though the 5600X may start lower, you should still see a noticeable gain. I reduced 10°C from my temps by undervolting the 5900X.

I attempted to disable PBO but the problem remains unchanged. It seems the issue lies with the airflow rather than a simple setting.
