MOBO: ASUS ROG STRIX B450-E gaming CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 3.8GHz (probably stock) CPU cooler: original, the one included ("Wraith Stealth") RAM: G.SKILL 16GB 3000Mhz XMP (shouldn't get too hot) Graphics card: RTX2060 Dual Fan (gets really warm, reaches 70-80°C during games, not normal) HDD: two 7200 RPM units (they heat up a lot) SSD: two devices (one SATA3, barely hot, other M.2 Samsung 970 Plus which stays around 40-50°C under load) (I also have a M.2 SATA Bluetooth/WiFi card, but I don't know how much heat it produces) CASE: DEEPCOOL D-SHIELD V2 – think the case is terrible, really bad, looks awful It costs around $30 and only has one exhaust fan at the back. While rendering a demanding video, my PC crashed because of overheating. This happened before too, so I assumed it was an issue but now it’s happening again. I tried a CPU temperature app to see if it was the cause – it did spike to 107°C. I hope the chip isn’t damaged. Are there any fixes without buying a new case and cooler? Also, check the motherboard temperature. That’s probably because airflow is missing – no intake fans at all.
Consider the side panel during rendering? It seems the case needs more ventilation, especially without front intake fans. Those components are causing the interior to heat up, preventing the CPU from getting fresh air. Adding intake fans would help, or opting for a more open case design could be better.
