your Noctua UA12A dual fan cooler isn't working properly under light use. Even when the system is only 20% loaded during a game like Spiderman remastered, temperatures stay high at 70–73°C. At idle, it should be running cooler, between 50–60°C. This suggests the cooling system may not be delivering enough airflow or there could be an issue with the fan operation.

Is this a fresh installation? Please remove the outer layer. Also, did you add thermal paste since running at 50-60% load is really bad?

It seems you're referring to some adjustments for better performance. Consider using the curve optimizer to fine-tune your voltage curve for cooler operation. Also, I observed that an earlier version of the 5800X tends to run warmer compared to a more recent VRM-B2 update.

Basically... my OCed 5900X reacts quickly to high temperatures, reaching 70°C during gameplay even with a 280mm radius loop.

It's quite typical. For users over 90, the extreme heat limit is around 85°C, and staying below that keeps things within normal ranges.

Noctua's reputation is exaggerated while their products often fall short. For CPU cooling, look for fans with 75 CFM or more if you're not using a liquid cooler.
