Hello, welcome to PC building! You just assembled an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X with a Thermaltake Peerless Assassin cooler. During the first boot in BIOS, the CPU reached 50°C, but when you ran Aida64 it jumped to 90°C and stayed there. You suspected the paste might be insufficient, so you replaced part of it, but the temperature remained unchanged. Is this typical? You might want to consider replacing the cooler if you're concerned about overheating.

The PA-SE120 should suffice for the 5800X. Aida64 is an excessive heat source and most premium CPUs would reach high temperatures during an Aida64 session. Could you share your typical temperatures under regular operation?

Your setup process is smooth. I tested it on a 58X3D and it handled around 65°C at 108W without issues. The PA120 works fine but isn’t the best option; Thermalright models perform better and are more durable. That model was often recommended because it was inexpensive and fits a D15 fan easily. You can notice my 58X3D at its maximum load of 145W.

Used the stock fan curve for the ASUS ROG STRIX B-550F board. Just testing, and it was idling at 50 while sitting in the BIOS. It’s a bit loud but not too much.

Currently we have two 140mm fans at the front intake and two 120mm fans at the top exhaust. We intend to add a 140mm exhaust on the back as well (these will be placed next to the cooler's fans).
