Hello everyone! Exploring the creation of a new system. AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D catches my eye. The company advertises on their site that you can play games without a dedicated graphics card—thanks to the latest Ryzen G-Series chips with built-in high-quality graphics. This means you can enjoy most PC games in HD without extra costs. Later, you can upgrade to a powerful graphics card if you wish. I saw a YouTube video discussing this idea, and it seems many agree it could rival a 5070 GPU. Any opinions? Thanks!
What model was evaluated? The 9950X3D isn't a G-series chip and won't match up with the 5070 in tough tasks. It features a modest GPU suitable for basic graphics. The G-series APUs offer better performance but remain on the lower side overall. To approach the 5070's capabilities, you'd need the Strix Halo, which isn't a standard socketed unit.
Brings to mind the older A-series APUs... superior to an Intel HD 3000, which mainly handled display output, but ultimately just a Radeon HD 6450 at its end. Functional, yet lacking in performance.
G Series models focus on their APUs rather than typical desktop CPUs. For instance, the 8700G differs from the 9950X3D by including an extra zero—it’s more like a 570 than a 5070. It still provides enough power for casual gaming, though not the latest AAA titles.
It's a solid 4060 for an IGPU, especially given the expense involved.
Have you noticed their expense? They function like a high-end graphics card in games since they rely on silicon similar to one found in top GPUs.
