Maybe some CPUs on certain motherboards capture actual consumption well, while others fall short. For all Intel processors, the measured values aren't always accurate—they can differ widely. I set my 10-core CPU to 800 MHz and found it uses just 0.8 Watts, making it a solid power saver.

6w falls short of covering the random idle surges; it should be near 35w after optimization on any genuine task, possibly more. Still, it remains a solid configuration.

I have an i5 12400 inside a sealed case with Thermalright PA120SE cooling that has P-states turned off. The machine draws only about 5W, making it efficient enough to run specialized workstations. I chose the Asus B660 Pro CSM board since it includes an onboard parallel port required by this setup. It supports Server 2000 software, Windows, and a browser for local sites, all working smoothly even in a sealed cabinet thanks to its low power consumption.
