You recently upgraded your Ryzen 7 5800X3D and tried reseating the AIO cooler multiple times along with applying new thermal paste, but the device continued to overheat. After checking Hwinfo64, you noticed a performance boost that improved gameplay and eliminated stuttering. However, you observed the CPU never reached 3.4GHz while still running cool. It’s unclear what to do next.

Identifying your motherboard and cooler, along with current temperatures, is necessary. Remember to reset the CMOS if any BIOS adjustments have altered boost settings.

It seems the feature is still active, even after disabling it. It’s labeled as a core performance enhancement, but it continues to raise the frequency to 4.8 GHz whenever the browser is open.

It's not working as expected. The 5800x3D shouldn't exceed 4550 unless there was an unintended change in the BLCK setting. Try turning that off first. Also, ensure your BIOS is current. Use a tool named PBO2 Tuner. On the CURVE tab, set -25 in the check boxes and on the LIMITS tab, adjust PPT to 120, TDC to 80, EDC to 110. You can also reset the maximum boost to 4550.

The device's display stays below 4550 across all loads, whether single or multiple cores. Adjust the BLCK setting to raise the threshold.

Are you considering renting something to help with stuttering in your games?

Clear the CMOS chip. It should be located on the back of the motherboard, but you’ll need to share your MOBO and GPU details. Which games are causing the stuttering?

Pc specs: Mbd model asus b550 f gaming motherboard CPU: Ryzen 7 5800x3d, originally had a Ryzen 9 5900x, GPU: Rx 6750 xfx merc 319 RAM: Corsair 2x16gb DDR 3600mhz PSU: Asus Thor 850w 80+platnium Cooler: Corsair H100i 240mm Drive: WD SN850X 2tb M.2 I’ll reset the CMOS again tomorrow, yes again. What games do you recommend? All of them cause constant stuttering; I’ve tried everything. I turned off mpo, SAM, freesync, FTPM, docp, overclocked the GPU and undervolted it. I reinstalled drivers multiple times—so many times I can’t remember—and also updated chipset drivers, BIOS, and Windows repeatedly for each of them over months. I’m giving up; at this point I need a professional. The amount of knowledge I’ve gained about computers in just about two years is insane. I know how to fix things people didn’t even realize were possible. I just want someone to guide me step by step until I solve this, but everyone gives up before we start.
