hello there, i recently set up a pc with the following specs: ryzen 5 3600, asrock b450m pro 4, 8 gb ram x 2 (16 gb), gtx 1650 vs 550 240 wd green ssd (1 tb), wd blue 7200 rpm x2 (2 tb). it started fine but after installing bitdefender and restarting, it took at least 20 minutes to boot. the asrock logo appeared with a loading circle at the bottom, and after that it worked normally. i have no usb drives connected except my mouse and a ps2 keyboard. could you help me figure out what’s going on? thank you.

Check the BIOS settings. Reset CMOS. Disable XMP/DCOP if off, turn it on. Enable Fast Boot if active. Restart to see if it resolves the issue.

Remove the malware using Bitdefender. The built-in Windows protection works better. Then, update the BIOS and clear the CMOS.

Bit defenders, Avast, AVG – they’re just extra features. Only the paid versions really matter now.

I believed Bit Defender was the sole decent option among all of them, haha

Windows Defender is significantly less troublesome and performs on par with or better than most free alternatives.

For the majority, it works well enough.
