New PC posts intermittently Hi, I recently installed a brand new PC two weeks ago. It functions properly most of the time, but sometimes it doesn’t post at all. In other cases, it takes 30 to 40 seconds before posting. Once it does, everything works fine. My system specs are: Windows 11 Pro, ASUS PRIME B650M-A, BIOS version 3.5 (02/24/2023), AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, 6-core processor at 4701 MHz, 2 x DDR5 FURY BEAST BLACK EXPO RAM (5200MT/s), MSI GEFORCE RTX 4070 TI VENTUS 3X, 12GB SSD, M.2 PCIe 3.0 NVMe. It runs quietly. SHADOW ROCK 3 WHITE SEAGATE BARRACUDA 1TB (slightly outdated). CORSAIR ALIM ENTHUSIAST SERIES TX850 I powered it on for the first time, took 40 seconds to post and everything worked. After installing Windows and updating drivers, I ran a full system check with MemTest64—no issues found. I’ve tried putting RAM in one at a time, changing profiles, and cleaning up, but still experience inconsistent posting. Any suggestions? Thanks! Tita

It switches on and off without cycling through power stages.

Hello, thank you for your message. From what you described, the system is powered on with fans running and lights active, yet it isn’t booting or restarting.

Is there any indication of the motherboard functioning properly while it operates? You can investigate the issue further. It seems your motherboard is struggling to boot up consistently. Adjusting the RAM settings helped, and if you're using a single memory stick, updating the BIOS might resolve the problems. The latest Asus revisions include feature updates for RAM compatibility.

I reviewed the motherboard once more and noticed nothing was lit. The LED next to the power button remains off when the PC starts but doesn’t boot. I’ll look into the beta version of the BIOS, as it wasn’t available after updating the BIOS, thank you for the details!

I updated the BIOS to version 1224, not the earlier beta release. I also reset the memory frequency back to 5200 MHz because it defaulted to 4800. So far there have been no noticeable improvements—my PC functioned normally after the first POST but worked fine once it successfully booted again on the second attempt. I’ll check the results tomorrow evening and let you know. If this doesn’t resolve the problem, I’ll look into obtaining the beta version of the BIOS. Thanks for your assistance!

Hi, the problem still persists after a few days. The PC fails to boot on the first attempt but works the second time after roughly 30-40 seconds. This occurs about 90% of the time now instead of 50%. I’m not sure what else I should try at this point.

After numerous days of effort, I’m confident this problem is resolved. Updating the BIOS to the latest version (released about a week ago, version 1405) worked perfectly and now my PC boots up successfully within ten seconds. Thanks, ComradeBard, for your assistance—I truly value it!
