I have a very new MSI Radeon GE67HX 12UHS laptop with an i9 12900HX processor and RTX 3080 Ti. It's having trouble running games, which is surprising since I've tried everything possible to fix it. The main issues are frame drops and inconsistencies, especially in games like GTA V where it struggles to maintain 60 frames while CPU and GPU usage hovers around 30%. I'm not used to buying gaming laptops, but this one is forcing me to try. I'm hoping you can offer some advice or point me in the right direction. Thanks a lot!

The weak performance appears in specific games rather than being uniform across all titles. Yes, all the driver updates listed on the OEM page are available.

Gpu drivers are regularly updated, but the cpu driver isn’t showing up. I’m limited to generic intel drivers and haven’t refreshed any others. Additionally, I’ve experienced sluggish performance in battlefield v. These are the only three games I’ve played after upgrading the laptop, except for League of Legends, which isn’t very demanding visually.

Have you checked the benchmarks? The thermals look good.

Verify your storage capacity. Updates often consume large amounts—around 30 GB after installation. Consider optimizing your drive space, run chkdsk, and use sfc to repair system files.

I ran some Cinebench tests a few days back to lower the voltage on my CPU, though it didn’t really affect the temperatures. The results I got seem decent for my setup, but I’m not sure if they’re ideal. The temps are still an issue during games, and the laptop’s fans are kicking in at high speeds. The CPU usually sits between 96 to 100, but I’ve heard it’s built to handle that heat—still, it doesn’t feel optimal for me.

I have more than 60% of my drive space free, so it’s not that. What is chkdsk? I’ll check the information on the link and let you know.

I completed the scan and resolved a few issues, but it’s unclear what that means for you.
