I also checked the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility and found power and current limits throttling. I adjusted the settings to raise the limits, which fixed both issues. Now all cores are consistently running at 4.7GHz, but I’m still seeing low CPU usage and package DTP average around 65W. My in-game performance remains subpar despite the higher clock speed. What advice would you have?

With a CPU supporting 16 threads, having two threads won't cause excessive load—typically around 12.5% plus minor background overhead. Running Cinebench will utilize all threads fully, while other programs won't match that performance. Regarding power use and speed, you should check the ThrottleStop log while gaming for details. Close Intel XTU and HWiNFO during logging to avoid interference. Adjust IccMax in the ThrottleStop FIVR window, ideally set to its maximum value (255.75). If your 9600K isn't being used fully, adding more cores and threads won't significantly improve results. Performance impact should remain similar after the upgrade.

When idle, ThrottleStop reports C0% usage; background processes may affect this. A Z-series board could allow minor overclocking to 5000 MHz, but the performance boost is likely minimal. Random frame drops might stem from a driver issue rather than CPU speed. Performance improvements from a new board are usually marginal.
