Hello everyone, I recently switched from an i5 9600k to an i9 9900k. After installation, I found it running quite sluggishly. When playing CPU-heavy games like Fortnite, I only saw 1-5% CPU usage across multiple cores and a speed of 4-4.7ghz. Temperatures were normal, and I’ve already updated my BIOS and reinstalled Windows 10. Any advice? My setup includes a GTX 1080 i9 9900k, 16GB RAM, Gigabyte B365M DS3H motherboard, Corsair TX750 PSU.

Did you deactivate the power restrictions on the board? The 9900K consumes roughly twice the energy of the 9600K.

You added a 9900k to the motherboard? That's quite a move. It shouldn't be noticeably slower than your previous chip, but what about the VRM temps and power limits above?

Follow the usual guidelines on power limits: 65W ≈ 4.1, 95W ≈ 4.4, 135W ≈ 4.8. Keep it off your board. The meaning of bravery remains the same.
