You're asking about the compatibility of the PoE injector and the switch. They might not directly power the switch, but they could still function together for another device.

I was counting on it helping me get the network switch running from afar, more than 50 feet from any power source nearby.

You cannot connect a PoE injector to any switch expecting it to work. It requires a switch that provides PoE input. Using the right PoE type is essential to avoid damaging equipment and meet power needs. The USW-Flex-Mini accepts PoE/PoE+ (44–57V DC, 0.05–0.04A) for its own operation only. Other connected devices won't receive power. It isn't designed for outdoor use, but it is rated for the outdoors and supports PoE++. It can power Ethernet devices at PoE+ up to 46W. Make sure your client devices match this capability.
