The modem/ONT WiFi performance is poor. I’d prefer a personal router instead.

The problem is typical of an ISP. It also works with WiFi.

The quote states that the product supports "support 802.11 n/b/g technical standards," indicating compatibility with a previous generation of Wi-Fi technology.

It mentions correctly on the linked page... Specifically, it states: "FD600-504G-HR220 supports wireless integration meeting 802.11 n/b/g standards, features a built-in high-gain directional antenna, and offers wireless transmission speeds up to 300Mbps."

I also came across this information, but I need a professional perspective to feel fully confident. The issue lies in the fact that the ISP supplies an internet cable connection for this device, yet I’m unsure why it might not be functioning optimally.

Internet connection options? Fiber optic or fiber-optic installation? Local device link via Ethernet? Or reasons behind weak Wi-Fi performance?

They refer to it as fiber optic cable using Ethernet. I’m using a desktop and don’t know if the modem sends or receives any signal, so I can’t confirm. The internet speed of 15 mbits for the package seems fine, though I’m unsure what else to check. I saw on their website that this isn’t the genuine fiber optic cable, which is costly, but this cheaper version via Ethernet works adequately.
