I need to start from scratch entirely. I won’t invest extra time if it functions perfectly on the previous setup, especially since its condition is just 79%.

I didn't mean to revert everything exactly as it was. Combine the old components on a cardboard box and give it a try. Alternatively, purchase an NVME>USB enclosure and test it there.
