You're considering an upgrade for your Asus B450 with the new R9 3900X. The X570-P fits your budget around $175 and offers the ports you need—two M.2 slots, two PCIe x16, and ample USB connections. If you prefer flexibility, a riser can work for the extra ports. Other vendors are also worth exploring if you want alternatives.

the x570 prime offers decent performance with an 8 sic639 vrm. it misses a few key features. if you're looking for a board around 180 dollars, models like the b550 aorus pro or strix f come in nicely, or the x570 tomahawk is a solid option. for the x570, you can usually spot a board with a c type header around that price, and for a bit more you'll find the x570 tuf or b550 a pro. the main distinction between the x570 and b550 is that the b550 supports gen 4 lanes on the wired connections, whereas the chipset is gen 3. the x570, especially with a zen 2 chip, supports gen 4 across the board.
