Hi. I started exploring xenons recently. I purchased an AMD X79 at LGA 1356 with 16GB RAM, DDR3 ECC, 2RX8, and a 2420 CPU for 40 USD. The 2420 worked fine, but the 2470 caused issues when installing Windows. Despite matching TDP, it failed with an uncorrectable error during installation. Could it be that the 2470 only functions in BIOS and triggers this problem when loading Windows? Thanks ahead for your assistance.

Didn't you install the latest BIOS and reinitialize the CMOS after changing the CPU? I noticed this board is quite unusual—once it works, it's hard to say what might go wrong.

the 2420 isn’t the right fit because the 2470 v2 uses a more recent architecture (Ivy Bridge instead of Sandy Bridge). your motherboard might not have been validated for Ivy Bridge, which could affect compatibility.
