I recently purchased a Western Digital 850X M.2 to enhance my storage, but when I try to fit it into the second slot (M.2_2), the NVMe device isn’t showing up, not even in the BIOS. I also attempted to place it in the M.2_1 slot, but the original drive still doesn’t appear anywhere. Someone might have some insight into why it only works with M.2_1?

I'll examine it just in case, but don't assume that's the problem. Thanks for the details.

You might not have sufficient PCIe lanes for the M.2 slot when using SATA drives or a GPU in the x16 port. Refer to your motherboard manual for details on PCIe lane distribution.

I possess a GPU in the x16 slot, yet in the PCIEx16_1 Asus claims it's available. Additionally, I have no SATA drives—only one NVMe unit.
