They are active yet unconnected. This unit has two M.2 slots, both equipped with NVMe SSDs—one is malfunctioning (front), the other is currently running a WD SN550 1TB drive.
Other motherboards can also play a role or not at all. Many users report problems with drives not being recognized. Often the issue lies in outdated drivers or the fact that M.2 slots are treated as add-ons for SATA, making them more prone to instability. This risk is small, but it’s still worth considering. Hardware issues are rarer than software glitches, and together they’re less likely than PEBKAC—yet they might be the most probable cause here. Hey guys, sorry about that. After all my attempts, I realized I left it unplugged until the end. Then I spent a whole day trying to install Windows on Windows (EFI didn't work), which must have been my punishment, hehe. Now everything's fine, sorry WD.
