Hi, I’m dealing with a Fractal Design Define S setup that includes two case fans. I recently added an ASUS TUF X670E Plus Wi-Fi motherboard. One fan is in the case fan 2 slot and the other in case fan 1. Both fans came with the case and are identical models. In BIOS and Armoury Crate, they’re both recognized, but in Armoury Crate I can’t modify the curve for the fan connected to case fan 2—no option to adjust it. The RPM display is visible on the dashboard, which is frustrating because it increases with CPU temperature and gets quite loud. I’d prefer it behaves like the other fan, which stays quieter. This is my first experience with an AMD CPU, and I’m hoping this isn’t the last time I run into setup issues. I’m also dealing with Ethernet/Wi-Fi problems that prevented driver installation or forced a BIOS update to avoid CPU damage. Things are working now, but I’m worried about reinstalling Windows later. Maybe the fan itself is the issue, but it’s just another minor annoyance.
Consider using FanControl software. Option 2 involves getting a splitter and connecting both fans to header #1. With AMD setup, it seems you faced difficulties, possibly due to a faulty board. I prefer installing Intel chips over AMD ones. Updating the BIOS is helpful rather than troublesome, as it enables platform upgrades when Intel requires purchasing new hardware.
Are the headers properly configured for PWM or DC? I'm confirming the Fan Control settings.
Fan Control functions well. The main problem I encountered was adjusting Ryzen Master to lower temperatures by tweaking the voltage offset. It helped initially, but I reverted to default settings after seeing no further gains. To fix the startup issue, I reset the program and confirmed all configurations were restored. Now I must replace the CMOS battery each time after a reboot. This suggests some settings remain active despite previous success. The motherboard displays a red light, and the CPU model is 7800X3D.
