This memory supports dual channel operation.
I bought one stick of Gskill Aegis memory and noticed I could have gotten a dual channel kit instead. I was in a hurry when I made the purchase. Will this memory support dual channel operation if I add another stick? The part number is F4-3000C16S-8GISB.
The dual channel concept isn't related to RAM directly. Your CPU features two memory channels, and you need to make use of both by placing the correct slots on the motherboard (if you have two sticks, at least). Typically, from left to right, the second and fourth slots are used.
the issue isn't related to RAM directly; multi-channel performance relies on the CPU and motherboard. Some older boards have strict requirements for RAM types. it's not the RAM's fault. review the manufacturer's DRAM QVL compatibility list for certainty (new hardware usually works fine). they confirm which modules are supported in specific configurations on their boards.
