Check your system requirements carefully. Your BIOS is f42, but you mentioned needing the f40 chipset version. Make sure your motherboard supports both and verify compatibility before proceeding.

We set up the processor... BIOS editions are the smallest to accommodate features that aren't fully required.

In theory, they could if the BIOS chip ran out of room. The poor Bristol Ridge APU was often removed from many boards to free up space for newer chips like Zen 2. This isn’t an issue in this case.

Mostly likely only a tiny fraction of board members used those APUs. A new midrange Ryzen model will keep them stable for several more updates.
