You're asking if your phone needs instant speed right away. If it works on wired connections and only handles 200Mbps, the remaining bandwidth can be shared with other devices simultaneously.

I don't rely on the internet much because I use it infrequently (download speeds are around 13-15). My main purpose is for my computer.

They claimed I had the extreme plan with 300 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload, but my connection drops to half speed over Ethernet. I assumed the building might affect it, but it doesn’t happen.

I might have misread it. You're still missing some information. I've completed the tests and checked with your ISP, who confirmed everything is fine. Now you should reach out to the modem manufacturer for further assistance.

Which connection do you prefer—WiFi or Ethernet? Give more details so I can assist you better.

I contacted the manufacturer and they reset the modem, but the speeds remain at 200 download and 10 upload. They mentioned it might be because your previous plan wasn’t upgraded, so you retained the old 200 download rate and now need to reach out to your ISP again about this issue.

Choosing to swap your ISP’s modem or gateway for your own means you take responsibility for any issues. Do you have the old modem to test speeds? Ensure your gateway is updated to the latest firmware. Motorola may have given you specific instructions to optimize your connection and reach peak performance.

Using the earlier modem provided identical download and upload speeds, and I’m not concerned because it’s already been sent to UPS.
