Mods in the forum (except for this case) aren't closely tied to actual creators and often lack enough admins to maintain order. If this had been a headline or written by regular staff, we'd be discussing a genuine reason for a boycott.

Well obviously you didn't read my text after the sarcastic part. I don't use Verge at all as news site and haven't seen any forum posts from there so I can't say if that post was irregular or somewhat normal to their forums. It could be just human error which isn't that incommon in internet. Flagging site/person with only single thing like that isn't nearly enough to me to issue a block on whole site. It can be enough for ignoring content from person in question or reporting him to administration since mods can also be seen as public face of community. And you really should have posted the information to OP. If you had, we wouldn't be having this conversation as I tend to ignore whole gamergate-thing as stupid-american-stuff.
