While celebrating Easter, I spent a lot of money on a Lenovo Yoga 900 with a faulty trackpad and had to go through the RMA process. Right now, I don’t have funds for games. Still, I’m curious—did anyone get the new NFS? If so, how does it perform on PC? Personally, I’m more into customization and freedom, and NFS didn’t really impress me with its history.

Based on my progress and about five hours in, things are fine. It isn’t spectacular, and I don’t really enjoy the driving mechanics—it feels a bit artificial and overly simple. The visuals are decent and the game runs smoothly. The plot is okay but sometimes feels too sentimental. I tend to skip the open world and jump straight into races since it didn’t really engage me. The customization options are solid; you can tweak each car similarly to what you did in Underground.

By the way, if you get Origin Access for a month, you can try a 10-hour trial of Need For Speed on Origin for $4.99. Just cancel the subscription right after payment so they won’t renew it after the month ends.

I understand, I probably won't be there until it's about $10. Most NFS games see their prices drop significantly, but thanks for letting me know. Driving is tough and the car suddenly goes into a drift—seems like typical NFS handling.

It was a great way to capture the driving experience. I’d have liked them to follow the direction of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit (2009). The graphics were solid back then, giving it an arcade feel, but it lacked true freedom, customization, and would have been even better.

the game lets you adjust how each vehicle handles slightly so it doesn't drift too easily, and also makes it easier to enter a drift faster. however, it has a problem I refer to as 'phantom steering.' occasionally the car steers on its own, often near corners. there are methods to reduce it, but it still occurs. although fixes exist, it's frustrating when it happens. the customization features are limited. some options exist for older models like the evo or civic, but more expensive models offer few parts unless you opt for a body kit. the performance upgrades are decent, though. i'm unsure about the extra tuning choices like sway bars—they seem more like a gimmick than real functionality.
