It could be a simple misunderstanding, but the two models differ in design and features. The Gigabyte B650 AORUS ELITE AX focuses on compact form and portability, while the GIGABYTE B650 E AORUS ELITE AX offers a slightly larger build and different audio components. Clarify if you need more details!

It's just a marginally improved version.

I dug a bit and checked online, and the quick takeaway is: likely more features plus PCIe 5.0.

AMD organizes their motherboards into tiers: X670E, X670 B650E, and B650 "E". The E model is designed to ensure PCIE 5.0 compatibility for both M.2 and PCIE 5.0 x16 slots, though some makers may extend it to non-E boards. Many B650 boards feature Gen 5 M.2 slots. Gen 5 SSDs are quite fast, but they’re not yet common enough for most users needing huge sequential speeds. Also, Gen 5 GPUs are still in development, so there’s little cause for concern at the moment.

In reality, it looks unlikely anyone will require PCIe5 SSD speeds in the coming years. The technology appears to be mainly aimed at large data centers.
